Growth & development

Learning & development plans

Every quarter, each person at Intempt gets an individualized L&D plan. The plan addresses your main growth areas across two dimensions: personal professional skills and company-level OKRs. Your performance is tracked against the Expectations framework.

Your manager works with you to identify where to focus. The goal is targeted growth, not a generic checklist. What matters to your career and what matters to the company should overlap as much as possible.

Performance levels

Performance is reviewed yearly. Each person falls into one of four levels.

0. Below expectations

Inconsistent output. Requires close supervision. May not meet all goals. This results in a performance improvement plan.

1. Meets expectations

Regularly meets goals, sometimes exceeds them. Collaborative, skilled, and reliable. This is the baseline for solid contributors.

2. Exceeds expectations

Significantly and consistently exceeds what's expected. Role model behavior across the team. This level leads to promotions.

3. Performing at next level

Far exceeds normal expectations. Extraordinary accomplishments that go well beyond the current role. Already operating at the next level up.

L&D plans and performance reviews are separate processes. The plan is about growth. The review is about where you stand. Both feed into each other, but they serve different purposes. Browse our Intempt Library for recommended reading across engineering, leadership, and product thinking.
