Values

Work smart, never stop learning, create remarkable things, help others and always stop to enjoy the moment.

Our values are inspired by Amazon's Leadership Principles, adapted to how a small, fully remote team actually operates. They shape how we hire, how we give feedback, and how we make decisions. Read them alongside our Work Principles and 9 Rare Traits. For the broader context behind why we build what we build, read our Philosophy.

1. Customer obsession

Start with the underserved customer and work backwards. Build something that's both a painkiller and a vitamin. If the customer doesn't feel it, it doesn't matter.

2. Ownership

Think long-term. Act on behalf of the entire company, not just your team. Never say “that's not my job.”

3. Invent and simplify

Require innovation from yourself and your team. Find ways to simplify using first principles. Seek diverse perspectives and work to disconfirm your beliefs.

4. Be curious, get feedback and learn

You're never done learning. When someone gives you negative feedback, listen deeply. Resist the urge to defend yourself. Sit with it, then act on it.

5. Hire and develop the best

Raise the bar with every hire and promotion. Recognize exceptional talent and move them throughout the organization. Invest seriously in developing people.

6. Insist on the highest standards

Relentlessly high standards. Continually raise the bar. Ensure defects don't get sent down the line. Problems get fixed so they stay fixed.

7. Think big and bold, act in small steps

Create a bold direction that inspires. Then act in small steps, compounding daily. 1% better each day means 37x better per year. Small wins stack.

8. Bias for action

Speed matters. Many decisions are reversible and don't need extensive study. Calculated risk-taking beats analysis paralysis every time.

9. Frugality

Accomplish more with less. Constraints breed resourcefulness, self-sufficiency and invention. No extra points for growing headcount, budget or fixed expense.

10. Earn trust

Listen attentively, speak candidly. Be vocally self-critical even when it's awkward. Benchmark yourself and your team against the best.

11. Dive deep

Stay connected to the details. Audit frequently. Be skeptical when metrics and storytelling diverge. No task is beneath you.

12. Disagree and commit

You're obligated to respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree. Have conviction. Be tenacious. Once a decision is made, commit wholly.

13. Deliver results

Focus on the key inputs and deliver with the right quality and in a timely fashion. Despite setbacks, rise to the occasion. Never settle.
