Intempt Handbook

The marketing health score

A 100-point weekly scorecard for the Marketing team's long game: awareness and founder brand, owned content and SEO and AEO, and partnerships.

A mail buoy riding the open water

Marketing health is one number out of 100, graded every week across the Marketing team's long game in how we run marketing: awareness and founder brand, owned content and SEO and AEO, and partnerships. It is the counterpart to the engineering, product and growth, and sales health scores: one number that says whether the durable demand is being built, so a slide shows up before a quarter is lost.

Claude computes it from what the team already produces: what shipped, the rankings and citations, the partner numbers, and the audience and signups behind them. It posts the score and the deltas every week, with a source and a pull date beside every figure, because these numbers live in dashboards this repo cannot read. It is a measurement, not a target invented on the spot.

Marketing runs the long game: the work that compounds slowly and makes every direct channel Product & Growth runs cheaper. This score grades that work on its own terms, not on a this-week signup count.

A week starts at 100 and loses points against the thresholds below.

Awareness and founder brand: 30 points

Create demand off-surface. AI commoditized content, so the edge is being familiar before the comparison starts.

The bands

ScoreGradeWhat it means
90 to 100AHealthy. Keep shipping.
80 to 89BMinor slippage. Named owner, fixed this week.
70 to 79CA category is failing. It leads the next week's priorities.
60 to 69DTwo or more categories failing. Slow new scope until it recovers.
Below 60FStop and fix. The long game is not compounding.

How a week runs

  • The score posts once a week, with the category breakdown, every number's source and pull date, and the change from last week.
  • A drop names an owner, with a date, not a general concern.
  • The weakest category sets priorities. It leads the next week's priorities.
  • The rubric is honest about gaps. A category with no owner, or a number nobody is pulling, shows up as a low category rather than being dropped.

This is the weekly read on how we run marketing, next to the product and growth and sales health scores.
