The Switch Angle
Turn a prospect's tool stack into a pain angle
$ npx skills add sidchaudhary/gtm-skills/skills/account-executive/the-switch-angleWhat it does
Maps a prospect's current tool stack to the inefficiency it creates, plus questions to surface it on a call.
You'll know it's time when...
Displacement pitches aren't landing, and competitor pain points aren't being tied back to the prospect's actual setup.

The Switch Angle
Turn a prospect's tool stack into a specific displacement argument: the exact inefficiency their configuration creates and how to surface it without sounding like a competitive pitch.
How to run
Ask the user for:
- Their product description and key differentiators (with numbers where possible)
- Their pricing model (especially if structurally different from competitors)
- The tools they most often replace or consolidate (with one sentence on what they replace about each)
- The prospect's current tool stack, organized by category (CRM, email/SMS, analytics, CDP, lifecycle, experimentation, sales engagement)
- Where the stack data came from (Clay enrichment, job posting, prospect conversation, G2 profile)
Anti-hallucination rule
Every competitive claim in this skill's output, the tool named as most vulnerable, its specific limitation, the operational inefficiency, must trace directly to something the user actually provided in steps 1-5: a real feature list, a real pricing page, a documented integration gap, a direct quote from a review or conversation, or a fact stated in the stack data itself. Never invent a competitor's limitation, integration gap, or pricing detail because it sounds plausible. If the stack data given does not support a specific, verifiable claim, say so explicitly: either ask the user for the missing detail (a feature comparison, a pricing page URL, a review excerpt) or narrow the output to what the provided data actually supports, and label anything not directly sourced as an inference rather than a fact.
Output format
Output 1: Primary displacement angle Which tool in their stack is most vulnerable to replacement, and why. Reference the exact limitation of that tool in the context of their full stack configuration, sourced from what the user provided in step 5. 2-3 sentences.
Output 2: Specific inefficiency The exact operational problem their stack configuration creates. Be concrete: what manual work does this require, what data does not connect, what cost is being paid for redundancy. Give an example of the friction this creates in a typical week for their team. 3-4 sentences.
Output 3: Two call questions Questions a rep can ask on a cold call or discovery call that surface this pain naturally, without naming a competitor or saying "we're better than X." The questions should make the prospect describe the problem in their own words.
Output 4: One-line email hook A single sentence for the opening line of a cold email. References their actual stack. Curious and specific, not presumptuous. Under 30 words. Does not claim to know they have a problem; implies awareness of their situation.
After all four outputs, add one line:
Do not lead with this: note whether the displacement angle is strong enough for a cold open or whether it works better as a second-touch after they have replied.
Quality check before returning
Before returning the output, verify:
- Does every claim (the primary displacement angle, the specific inefficiency, and anything cited in the call questions or email hook) trace to the actual stack data or sourcing the user provided in steps 1-5, with nothing invented or assumed?
- Does the primary displacement angle reference a limitation that traces to the actual stack data provided, not a generic competitor weakness?
- Are the two call questions free of competitor names and free of "we're better than X" framing?
- Is the email hook under 30 words and phrased as awareness of their situation, not a claim to already know they have a problem?
- Is the "Do not lead with this" note present and does it give a real reason (cold open vs. second-touch), not a placeholder?
If any check fails, rewrite the relevant output before returning. If a claim cannot be traced to what the user provided, cut it or flag it as an inference rather than presenting it as fact.

This is one of 10 Account Executive skills. They chain - the order you run them in changes what you get, and running one in isolation usually means re-answering setup another skill already captured. 10 best Claude skills for sales walks the whole pack in the order the skills actually chain.
Two ways to run it.
Pick your Claude surface. Both paths take under a minute.
