It starts with anonymous identifiers like device or session IDs. When a known identifier appears email from a form, a logged-in user ID, a purchase the system links all prior anonymous history to the known profile. This prevents 'new user' resets when someone returns or switches devices, and ensures that journey triggers fire with full behavioral context, not just the current session.
Events stream into Intempt and update profiles immediately there is no batch delay. This matters when you want to react during the session or right after a key action. Pricing page visits, activation milestones, cart events, and churn signals lose value fast.
