Owned content, SEO, and AEO
Deep first-party content that ranks in search and gets cited by answer engines, built on a content-led model.
The content channel is the slowest to start and the most durable once it runs. It is how a stranger with real buying intent finds us: someone choosing a tool, or searching how to do a specific thing, lands on a comparison, a deep how-to, or a cited answer, and ends up on the free plan. This page is how we do content, SEO, and AEO, and the Claude skills and MCP that sit alongside them. It is strategy 1 in how growth works; the channel order is in channels-overview.
The model: content-led, not a content mill
We follow a content-led model: deep, first-party, genuinely useful content, and we do not buy our way up.
- Bottom of funnel, not top. LLMs already write top-of-funnel explainers well, so we do not compete there. We invest where intent is highest and the models are weakest: head-to-head product comparisons, deep how-tos, and the specific "how do I actually do this" content an operator reads when they have the problem and are choosing a tool. That is what ranks, and what an answer engine cites.
- First-party and specific. Written by people who run the product and talk to customers, not outsourced for volume. Operators can smell filler.
- No AI slop. First drafts can come from Claude; a human edits, fact-checks, and publishes. We never ship generated-and-forgotten pages.
- No paid-for links. We earn links by being worth citing, not by buying placements.
- It ladders to the thesis. Every piece points back to the self-driving GTM engine in who-we-build-for, so content and positioning pull in the same direction.
Content is a standing bet, not a quick win. It compounds: a post written once keeps ranking and keeps getting cited long after it ships.
SEO: rank for what our ICP searches
Search is how a growth operator finds a tool when they have the problem but not the vendor. SEO is making sure Intempt is the answer.
- Write for the ICP's real questions, the acquire, convert, retain problems the SMB growth team actually types in, not keyword-stuffed pages.
- Topic clusters, not one-offs. A pillar page plus the supporting posts around it, interlinked, so the whole cluster ranks together.
- The free tools double as SEO. Each tool on
/free-toolsand/toolsranks for the job it does and hands the visitor a real result, then a door into the free plan. - Technical hygiene. Fast pages, clean structure, correct metadata, and a sitemap that stays in sync, so what we publish is actually crawlable.
AEO: be the answer an AI engine cites
Answer Engine Optimization is the newer half of the same job. More of our ICP now asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's AI answers instead of scrolling ten blue links. AEO is making Intempt the source those engines quote.
- Structured, extractable answers. Clear claims, direct definitions, and specifics an engine can lift cleanly, rather than prose that buries the point.
- Machine-readable surfaces. We publish
llms.txtandllms-full.txtand.mdvariants of our pages, so an LLM client can read the real content instead of a rendered shell. - First-party facts win citations. An engine cites the primary source. Being the specific, first-party authority on our topics is what gets Intempt named in the answer.
- Measured by citations, not just rank. Success is Intempt showing up in AI answers for our topics, tracked over time with a source and a date.
SEO and AEO are not separate projects. The same deep first-party content earns both: it ranks in search and it gets cited by engines. Writing it once serves both channels.
Claude skills and the MCP
The organic strategy does not require a signup to deliver value. We ship Claude skills and plugins that a person runs inside Claude to solve the exact problem the content describes, and using them introduces them to our MCP. They do the job in Claude Code first, on their own terms and their own data, before they ever create an account.
- The skill is the proof. A skill that actually does the job is a stronger demo than any landing page, and it meets the person where they already work.
- The MCP is the on-ramp. Running a skill connects them to Intempt through the MCP, so the step from "I did this in Claude" to "I signed up for the product" is small and natural.
- Signup comes when they are ready. The funnel is discovery through the LLMs, then real work through the skills and MCP, then signing up and paying for the full product when the job outgrows what the skill alone can do. We do not force the account; we earn it.
How it feeds the loop
Content, free tools, and cited answers all end in the same place as every other channel: a new visitor on the free plan, where the AI credits in plg-distribution activate them. A published recipe is content too: it is organic discovery and an in-product play at once, and it pays its author (the recipe engine in growth-flywheel).
The one number
This channel moves the same number as the rest: activated free workspaces per week, with a source and a pull date beside every figure. Content's leading indicators (organic sessions, ranking keywords, AI citations) live in dashboards this repo cannot read, so a command is not available; a source and a date is the rule instead.
