The Glossary

A reference of terms used across the Intempt platform. Terms are defined as they behave in Intempt specifically.

A

Account A group of users that belongs to a single entity, such as a company. Accounts need a common identifier that groups users, e.g., a domain name.

Account attribute Data about the group of users (like companies), such as company name, domain, etc.

Asset Any piece of creative content created in Studio: emails, images, videos, landing pages, or message templates. Assets exist in Draft or Published state.

Asset Library The central store for all Studio assets. Browse, search, filter, and manage all creative output from one place.

Attribute A property attached to a User, Account, or Event record. Examples: plan = "pro", company = "Acme Inc", country = "US". Attributes can be set by your SDK, imported via CSV, synced from a CRM, or written by Blu and Workflows.

Avatar A digital character in Intempt's AI video and image generation system. Intempt includes built-in avatars, each with configurable emotions, that appear in generated video reels and product images.

B

Blu Intempt's AI assistant. Blu runs across all platform pillars and executes natural language commands against your data, brand context, and customer profiles.

Brand Kit Visual and voice identity settings stored at the Organization level. Contains logo, colors, fonts, and brand voice description. Brand Kit feeds AI creative generation to keep outputs on-brand.

C

Calculated attribute A user attribute whose value is calculated based on one of the scoring models' algorithms (Lifecycle agent, Qualification agent, Next best action model, Likelihood model).

Catalog A list of products synced from your inventory that you can use for advanced filtering and personalizing your messages.

Catalog Source A data connection that feeds your product catalog (SKUs, prices, descriptions, images) into Intempt. Used by the Recommendations module to generate per-user product suggestions.

Confidence interval A range of values that is likely to contain the true value of an estimated parameter.

Consent A record of a user's communication and data processing preferences. Consent records are managed in the Consent module and enforced across Journeys and Messages so that communications respect opt-in and opt-out status.

Credit The unit of AI resource consumption in Intempt. Credits are consumed by AI operations: Blu commands, video generation, AI research, recipe runs. Credit balances and consumption are visible in Settings > Usage.

CUPED A technique that leverages user information from before an experiment to reduce the variance and increase confidence in experimental metrics. This can help to determine experiments that have a meaningful pre-exposure bias (e.g., the groups were randomly different before any treatment was applied).

D

Dashboard An analytics board that allows you to view all your most important metrics at a glance.

Data Hub The module inside Context that stores and manages unified customer profiles. Data Hub contains Users, Accounts, Events, Attributes, and Identity records.

Data Subject Request (DSR) A formal request from an individual to access, delete, or export their personal data. Intempt's Consent module provides a workflow for receiving and processing DSRs in compliance with GDPR and CCPA.

Design System A defined set of fonts, colors, and layout rules that auto-apply to emails and assets generated in Studio. Design Systems enforce creative consistency across your team.

Destination A downstream integration that allows you to send your data to external tools or message customers (e.g., Sendgrid for sending emails).

Draft The unpublished state of an Asset or Journey. A Draft asset is not live on the CDN. A Draft Journey is not delivering to users.

E

Event Any action associated with a user (coming from an event collection) created via Intempt event builder as a group of conditions and filters.

Event attribute A property of a particular event. The values it contains are current for the moment the event was triggered.

Experiment An A/B or multivariate test that serves different experiences (variants) to different users and measures the difference in outcomes. Experiments report statistical significance scores.

Experiences Real-time visual changes on your website or application based on specified targeting conditions.

F

Feature Flag A toggle that enables or disables a feature for a defined percentage of users without redeploying code. Feature Flags are managed in the Experiment module.

Funnel A sequence of events analyzed to measure how many users complete each step. Used in Analytics to identify where users drop off between key actions.

I

Identity Resolution The process by which Intempt merges anonymous and known user records into a single profile. When a tracked anonymous visitor authenticates, their pre-login session history is merged with their identified profile using the intempt.identify() call.

J

Journey A set of conditions created via workflow builder to engage your target customers.

Journey Block A single step inside a Journey. Block types include: Message, Delay, Wait Until, True/False Branch, Multi-Split, and A/B Split.

L

Lifecycle agent A scoring model that evaluates users' recency, frequency, and monetary behavior towards a conversion event.

Likelihood model An AI-based scoring algorithm that creates a likelihood prediction of whether the user or account will reach a specific goal (e.g., purchase or churn).

Liquid Tags Templating syntax used in Intempt message content to insert dynamic values from customer profiles. Example: {{ user.name }} inserts the recipient's first name.

M

Messaging templates SMS, email templates, Slack message templates, and push notifications you can reuse in the Journey builder to engage your customers.

N

Next best action model An AI-based scoring algorithm that predicts the optimal action you should perform or display to increase the likelihood of the user performing the conversion event.

O

Organization The controlling entity that links projects, users, and a plan together. Each organization has a single Intempt plan associated with it, which determines the data volume limits and features available across all projects in the organization.

P

Personalization An on-site experience delivered differently to different users based on segment membership or AI scoring. Targets specific page elements without requiring a code deploy.

Pipeline The CRM module in Execution. Contains deal stages, linked accounts, contacts, and activity history.

Pose A body position or stance used in AI image and video generation. Poses are combined with Avatars and Scenes to produce generated visual assets.

Preference Center A user-facing page where subscribers manage their communication opt-ins and opt-outs by channel and content type. Configured in Context > Consent.

Project A container for your data, including saved entities like sources, events, segments, and others. A single organization can contain multiple projects, and each project's data tallies are summed together to give the organization-level usage.

Published The live state of an Asset or Journey. A Published asset is on the CDN and can be delivered. A Published Journey is actively running and delivering to users.

Q

Qualification agent A set of rules with scoring conditions attached to evaluate your users and accounts based on fit and activity criteria.

R

Recipe A pre-built template that creates multiple platform objects at once. Marketing automation recipes create attributes, segments, journeys, and dashboards in a single operation.

Recommendation A per-user product suggestion generated by the Recommend module. Scored using collaborative filtering, content-based, or hybrid algorithms against your catalog and behavioral event data.

Report A basic unit of performing analysis in Intempt.

RFM Scoring A segmentation method that scores users on Recency (how recently they acted), Frequency (how often they act), and Monetary (how much value they generate). RFM scores are available as segment conditions.

S

Scene A visual environment setting used in AI image and video generation. Scene categories include: film stock, style, settings, props, shot type, camera angle, lighting, surface, and backdrop.

Segment A group of users or accounts whose actions or properties match a set of criteria you have defined. Once a user or an account is in a segment, you can target them with a journey or create a report to analyze them.

Source A website, server library, mobile SDK, or cloud application that can send data into Intempt.

Statistical significance A measure of the probability that the observed difference between groups is due to a real effect rather than random chance.

U

User Any visitor who interacts with your mobile app, website, and other platforms.

User attribute Data about the user, such as name, email, etc.

Users/Accounts A group of users or accounts that can be filtered and grouped in a customized table view.

V

Variant A test group in an experience. A variant denotes a particular treatment option (like a banner change) being tested on a group of users who are selected by specified traffic allocation.

W

Workflow An automation sequence in the Execution pillar that operates on records (users, accounts, deals, tasks) rather than delivering messages. Triggered by events, segment changes, schedules, record changes, or API calls.
