Head of Content & AEO
Own the content engine: the bottom-of-funnel content, SEO, AEO, and the newsletter that make Intempt the answer.
Marketing. Remote. Full-time. 5+ years. Hiring now.
Team: Marketing. We run the long game off-surface: owned content, SEO and AEO, social, founder brand, and partnerships. It makes every direct channel cheaper. This seat owns content, SEO, and AEO, measured on rankings, citations, and the organic signups behind them.
About the role
You own content as a growth channel, not a blog. LLMs already write top-of-funnel explainers, so we do not compete there. We invest where intent is highest and the models are weakest: head-to-head product comparisons, deep how-tos, and the specific "how do I actually do this" content an operator reads when they are choosing a tool. You own that engine end to end, and you own the two ways people find it: search (SEO) and the answer engines that now sit in front of search (AEO).
This is a builder-owner role. You set the strategy, you commission and edit the work, you publish, and you are accountable for one number: activated free workspaces that content drove. You run a small bench of writers and the Creator in Residence runs alongside you, and you make the whole thing compound.
What you'll own
- The content strategy: the pillars, the topic clusters, and the calendar, pointed at bottom-of-funnel intent.
- SEO: ICP-question content, topic clusters, technical hygiene, and the free tools that rank for the job they do.
- AEO: structured, extractable content and the machine-readable surfaces (llms.txt, markdown variants) that get Intempt cited in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's answers.
- The newsletter and owned editorial voice.
- The writers' bench: brief, edit, and raise the bar. First drafts can come from Claude; a human makes them true and good.
- The numbers: organic sessions, ranking keywords, AI citations, and the signups behind them, each reported with a source and a date.
You are
- 5+ years running content that drove pipeline, not impressions, with the numbers to show it.
- Fluent in modern SEO and early to AEO: you already think about being cited, not just ranked.
- A strong editor who can make a technical product simple without dumbing it down.
- AI-native: you use Claude to draft and research, and you can tell good output from slop in one read.
- Opinionated about voice, and allergic to AI slop, keyword stuffing, and paid-for links.
Tech stack
- Claude for drafting and research, the Intempt free tools, an SEO suite (Ahrefs or similar), GSC.
- A CMS and a newsletter platform, plus the analytics to tie content to signups.
Not a fit if
- Your plan is a content mill of thin top-of-funnel posts.
- You measure success in posts published or impressions, not activated users.
- You need a team of ten before you can ship anything.
Solution Engineer
No customer success or sales org. One sharp person owns the entire customer relationship, demo to deployment.
Illustrator & Motion Designer
The rare seat that holds both poles of brand craft: Clay-style illustration that gives Intempt a world, and Linear-grade motion that makes the product feel inevitable.
